Insia Saleh---New Improved Thesis
The media, facing fierce competitions in their own world, always reports incidents dramatically and sometimes even in sleazier way to attract the viewer ship but gives little thought to the ramifications and consequences behind an eye-catching coverage of the story. The way of their reporting the facts is as such that people get a false impression for the sake of a good story, for instance, the New York Times reported that the South Korean movie "Old Boy" may have inspired the Virginia Tech killer Cho Seung-hui to commit the shooting rampage. It is not for nothing that they are often held in a similar level of regard, like politicians, in blaming other kinds of media (violent movies, video games and music). After all they always fall back on the mantle of public interest in order to get good ratings and to get rich.
