1- Public responses to infrastructure tragedies often correlate with the socio-economic classes of the victims. Bridge collapses in rich urban areas are quickly followed by significant aid from the government and the public. However catastrophes in indigent areas tend to attract less governmental and public assistance.
2- Due to the fact that Minneapolis is a wealthy, upper class area, it attracted major aid from the government and the public in response to the bridge collapse in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The amount of aid received by Minneapolis exceeded what would have been an appropriate response, due to the wealth and socio-economic classes of the victims.
